''More or less a self-taught artist, with a background as a fashion model in Europe and a trained nurse in Sweden. She gets her inspiration from fates, fashion, and dance. After some courses in sculpture, she realized that this was her thing to do. The classic torso is often depicted in her work. She combines the bodies in very hard iron mesh with soft aluminum, copper or brass, which gives the sculptures life and movement. The light is also very important and a spotlight on the sculptures will give them beautiful shadows.
She creates strong women that stand up for themselves and for others. The dance theme, is a frequently recurring theme and has always been a great interest of hers and also old movies with beautiful dresses. She also creates big dresses in aluminum often combined with recycled old jewelry.''
''Lisa Abelsson is an artist whose life and work are deeply rooted in the scenic and inspiring environment of Österlen. After spending a few formative years in Paris as a young adult, Abelsson developed an artistic practice characterized by a passion for dance, fashion, and people's personal stories. These elements are clearly present in her work, giving her art its unique character and depth.
Lisa Abelsson's art is a celebration of life's dynamism and the beauty of human interaction. Through her eyes, we see the world around us in new ways—enriched by the movement of dance, the transformations of fashion, and the countless stories woven through human lives.''
''Lisa Abelsson has always been a deeply creative soul, designing and sewing her own clothes from a young age. Her artistic journey took a significant turn during her time in Paris, where she worked with the modeling agency L'Agence/Elite in 1979-80. Immersed in the city's vibrant art scene, she visited countless exhibitions that left a lasting impact on her. However, before fully pursuing her passion for art, she worked as a trained nurse and after that successfully ran her own bag company.
Drawing inspiration from the human body and soul, fashion, and dance, Lisa Abelsson’s art beautifully blends strength and delicacy, capturing the essence of life and movement in every piece.''
